Why did CCSPCA Animal Control Officers not file a report about the condition of these dogs? Why were animal abuse/neglect charges not filed?
If these dogs were in such great shape why did Central California SPCA not spay and neuter -- as is the norm -- before they were released?
The truth is that the dogs were too thin and too sick to be spayed and neutered and that is why they were released to rescue - so that rescue could take care of their medical needs and put some weight on them before spaying and neutering.
Why if these dogs were in "show coat" did the shelter have their groomer shave them down before they were turned over? Why did we have to pay for grooming?
Veterinarian Brad Patterson - in whose care 4 of these Standard Poodles were for weeks - states: "At first glance it was obvious that the condition these dogs were in was some of the most deplorable that I have seen in my thirty plus years of practice."

Believe it or not there is a WHITE dog under this mess. Look closely at the matts and imagine having to wear really, really tight hair rollers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
